Wipro's Alert Against Fraudulent Job Offers

This is to inform you that there has been an increase in the number of fraudulent job offers being circulated in the market falsely bearing the name of Wipro on offer letters. Request you to please be aware of such activities.

Dear Wiproite,

There has been a significant increase in the number of fraudulent job offers being floated by individuals falsely bearing the name of Wipro on the offer letters. These fake job offers are sent to applicants through email, with the intent to cheat them of their money using Wipro credentials illegally. This is to inform you on the increasing trend of such cases and you are requested to spread the word to minimize such occurrences, and safeguard the interests of your friends, relatives and contacts from such practices.

In this context, please note the following:

  • No fee is charged at any stage of the recruitment process at Wipro
  • No partner or other entity is authorized to collect any fees for recruitment at Wipro
  • Wipro uses only a limited set of sourcing channels through which hiring is carried out. You can visit our career site* to know more about our sourcing channels and give this as a reference to individuals you know
  • No offers are made without candidates going through a detailed and structured selection and interview process
  • Wipro does not communicate through public email IDs for recruitment purposes
  • You can visit http://careers.wipro.com/integrity.htm to know more about how candidates can identify dubious communication
  • Key identifiers of these fake job offer emails are:
  • They come from public email ids often with WIPRO as a user name.
  • They claim to come from 'Wipro Group of Industries Limited' or some such non-existent organization but claiming to carry the name of 'Wipro'.
  • They call for cash deposit into a designated bank account
  • To make the offer seem authentic, the email will call for submission of 'qualification documents', 'experience certificate', photographs, etc.
  • Quite often the content and format of the letter is amateurish and has a lot of spelling and apparent grammatical errors
  • Often, the contact address, phone numbers given in the email are non-existent and false.

Importantly, please advise your friends and relatives not to fall prey to such fake job offers. In case any of your friends or acquaintances complain to you of receiving such mails, please advise them to not pay any money. They must simply ignore such mails as ‘SPAM’.

However in the event they have already paid and lost the money to such fraudsters, please advise them to register a complaint with their nearest police station so that necessary action could be taken to bring the culprits to book.

If you are alerted that fraudsters are using your identity/name for offering fake jobs in Wipro, please report this to helpdesk.recruitment@wipro.com

Wipro follows a rigorous and stringent background verification process. Only candidates who have received the Offer Letter from Wipro after this verification process will be allowed to join.

We have been driving awareness campaigns to educate the general public through all our communication channels, advertisements, career website, etc. We would like you to join in by alerting your friends and acquaintances by asking them to refrain from responding to such fake jobs offers.
